World Naked Gardening Day urges people to go nude with nature

New York, May 5 (ANI): The World Naked Gardening Day event was held on Saturday which encouraged people to get in touch with nature while au naturale.

Mark Storey, the founder of World Naked Gardening Day, said anyone, anywhere can participate, whether in public or in the privacy of their own homes.

On Saturday, participants ditched their clothes and planted some flowers to celebrate the 10th annual World Naked Gardening Day, the New York Daily News reported.

Storey, 54, said he and some friends started the event about 10 years ago.

They polled people to ask what activity - besides the obvious - they enjoyed doing naked. Swimming was the most popular response, but gardening was No. 2.

Rather than start a World Skinny-Dipping Day, Storey and Co. decided to set aside a day where people were encouraged to exercise their green thumbs in their birthday suits.

They spread the word, and various nudist, naturalist and garden clubs across the United States, as well as in England, Australia and Canada, started putting it on their calendars. (ANI)
