Side-swept hairstyle is the latest trend that’s taking women by storm these days. From celebrities to brides, this style is a hit among all women. Stylish, chic and dressy, side-swept hairstyles are not restricted to a particular face type. It suits well for all faces and can enhance or camouflage the shape of the face. One does not have to make a trip to the salon to get a side braid or a sexy bun. Here’s how you can sit back at home and get an all new look.

However, even before you go out and try this new Bohemian look, don’t forget to follow the basic rules: Washing, conditioning and blow drying. These are the secrets behind any good hair-do.
Here are few side-swept hairstyles you can try at home:

Loose braids: To wear lose, casual braids, simply curl your hair with a wide-toothed brush, to form unstructured waves that look like uneven braids. Now leave some on the sides and some behind your shoulder to complete the look.

Side buns: This hairstyle is well suited if you’re wearing an evening gown or a pretty saree. Just tie up your hair in a bun and place it on one of the sides. You can also dress it up with flashy hairpins and clips. Side buns give more prominence to the face.

Side braids: Split your hair into two portions from the front. Now, leave the top half and make tight braids with the lower half, bringing it to the side. Wear a chic band or dress it with studs on the intersections to enhance the braids. Now, with the upper portion, either bring it all to one side and clip it up or iron it flat and keep it lose.

Fish tail braids: Make two even sections. Now, from one section, take a small stand and bring it over to the other side. Do the same with the other section as well. This way you will make small braids with small portions. Continue repeating the same until you have made small braids with both sections. The trick here is to use small stands; else you’ll end up making it look like a normal braid.

Half open: In case you want to keep it simple and sweet, just take a portion of your hair from the side, use a setting spray and pin it up with a few bobby pins. Now, curl or iron the other half and leave it on one shoulder.
