These celebs have been victims of cancer, have fought against it, emerging victorious, and are, today, a source of inspiration of millions of people suffering from cancer. Lance Armstrong

The cycling legend was diagnosed testicular cancer in 1996. His diagnosis was made quite late, by which time, it had spread to his lungs, stomach and brain and his survival chances were reduced to 40%. Thanks to his spirit and strong support from his well wishers, Armstrong turned his life around and emerged victorious in his battle against cancer. Armstrong opened the 'Lance Armstrong Foundation' in 1997 to assist cancer patients and their families all over the world.
