Romantic Duo- Riteish and Genelia
At Dheeraj Deshmukh’s wedding in 2012, it was his newlywed bhai-bhabhi who stole the show.
On the wedding, Genelia wore a maroon and green Sabyasachi lehenga with her hair tied in a braid adorned with jasmine flowers. Genelia had also applied sindoor. She wore matching green polka jewellery and lots of green bangles in her hand. She kept it completely traditional and classic.
On the day of the reception, she returned to her bubbly self in a hot pink and orange lehenga with a slightly reddish velvet choli. The heavy gold set with matching maang tikka lended an old world charm to this otherwise modern look. She balanced out her heavy attire and jewellery with dewy pink makeup.
Riteish accompanied her in bandhgalas both the times. At the wedding, the red dhoti salwar added an element of fun, while matching the maroon in Genelia's outfit. At the reception, his look was slightly more formal, with a basic black velvet jacket and grey trousers.
Vision in White- Karisma Kapoor
Bollywood's most talked about sisters- Karisma and Kareena leave no stone unturned when it comes to looking glamorous. Thus at younger sister Kareena's wedding, Karisma Kapoor looked resplendent in Manish Malhotra lehengas and that was no surprise. What really stood out was the choice of colours for all the outfits she wore.
Karisma wore a green and gold ornate lehenga on the private sangeet ceremony, white ornate lehenga on the wedding, and white and maroon lehenga for Dawat-e-walima party. For a pre-wedding dinner, she wore a white jacket style suit with gold embroidery and small jhumkas. She kept her makeup extremely natural in soft peach and pink tints. Looking graceful and elegant in soft and muted earthy colours is something Karisma did beautifully.
Steering away from tomato red or bubbly pink is a trend catching on fast. Talking of jewellery, she dazzled in a kundan polki sets on the wedding and reception. But, for the sangeet ceremony. she kept it simple with her statement gold earrings and maang tikka. She opted for matching gold and maroon potli bags to carry her essentials in style.
Sexy Siren- Shamita Shetty
At Shilpa and Raj’s reception, Shamita was at her ‘blinging’ best in a sea blue green Manish Malhotra saree. She paired it up with some serious diamond jewellery. A little display of ruby in the necklace broke the blue-green monotony brilliantly. Nude brown makeup and hair let loose, allow you to focus on the clothes and jewellery alone.
For the sangeet ceremony, she picked a maroon anarkali suit by designer Tarun Tahiliani. She matched it with a ruby drop necklace. While the outfit is heavy, her jewellery grabbed all the attention.
Yummy Mummy- Malaika Arora Khan
Malaika Arora Khan’s sister Amrita's wedding festivities included a Christian wedding, a vibrant mehendi celebration and a Muslim nikaah ceremony. Malaika Arora Khan was a bridesmaid for the Christian ceremony in a peach and caramel vintage Ashley Rebello gown.
On mehendi, she wore a beautiful silver and sea green churidaar suit with matching emerald earrings and juttis. The wedding saw her in a feisty red lehenga. While the lehenga was plain, the deep neckline of her choli made up for it. She wore contrasting green earrings and lots of gold bangles and gold maang tikka.
After a churidaar and a lehenga, it was a yellow gold net saree with silver work for the reception. It was accompanied with light pink statement earrings, sindoor and a crystal encrusted waist belt.
Simple Saga- Soha Ali Khan
On brother Saif's sangeet ceremony, Soha opted for an interesting black and silver half-saree ensemble by Anamika Khanna with quarter sleeve blouse. She teamed it up with big kundan chand balis and black open toed pumps. She looked a little underwhelmed if we talk of the event in question, but sometimes being a little non-traditional seemed to work at best here.
Talking of her wedding day outfit, she wore a cream and golden lehenga paired with multiple polki strings, earrings and maang tikka. She left her hair loose with minimal makeup.
Badtameez Boy- Ranbir Kapoor
At cousin Kareena's reception, Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor stuck to his signature style in a black coat, white trousers, red pocket square and oodles of charm. He stood out with the mantra 'less is more'. A cue that boys should certainly take, we believe!
