Pulp Fiction – Are the days numbered for Bangalore’s mango bazaars?

City Market is its usual hustle and bustle as we weave our way through long-winded lanes complete with tractor tracks still visible due to the welcoming rains the night before. Along the way are umpteen vendors selling fruit, vegetables and flowers in one of Bangalore’s oldest traditional markets — so full of character that I walk along in a trance-like state taking in the sights and smells. Along the way are umpteen vendors selling fruit, vegetables and flowers in one of Bangalore’s oldest traditional markets — so full of character that I walk along in a trance-like state taking in the sights and smells. With our single-minded obsession driving us we finally make our way through tractors and people carrying produce frenetically, finding the king of fruits — mango in its complete splendour. less
