Photo Call: Close encounters with Wild India!

The first week of October is observed as Wildlife Week in India. On this occasion, we called out to Yahoo! readers to submit their best wildlife photos on Flickr. We encouraged them to take the 'wild' in wildlife seriously and shoot only animals in the wild environment -- no zoos or cages. We also urged them to turn their attention to creatures usually overlooked by safari-goers. The participation was enthusiastic and the best entries have been selected to appear in this fascinating gallery on Indian wildlife.
