Chanel has just announced a shiny new fragrance in time to celebrate Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s birthday.
With the label’s signature Coco and Coco Mademoiselle scents in mind, Coco Noir is updated to create an intense but luxe fragrance.
The perfume is also inspired by the French fashion designer’s time in Venice, where she contrasted her simple, sober style with bursts of colour and gold.
Head of Parfums Chanel, Jacques Polge believes the spirit of this fragrance is concentrated in its woody base, which is generously layered with sandalwood, vetiver, frankincense, patchouli, vanilla, tonka bean and a musky note.
Coco Noir, £75 (50ml), is available exclusively at Chanel boutiques, Selfridges London and Manchester, Fenwicks Newcastle and House of Fraser Glasgow from August 3rd, and nationwide at Chanel beauty counters from 17th August.
