Don’t Fall for a Diet Trap

MensXP/ShutterstockPeople are influenced by the slightest things with such ease! They pour over endless lifestyle shows and magazines to procure slimming secrets and follow them only to face disappointment.

This article tells you more about why you shouldn’t fall into such traps.

    Media and Fitness

In a world shaped by the media, one can hardly blame men for wanting to look a certain way. The media does its best to rub the image of unachievable fitness into our faces every day. You are incessantly drilled with information pertaining to what you should eat and what they think you should not. By and by, the list of ingest-worthy foods becomes extremely small. Whether you choose to blame fashion models, actors or pornography, you cannot escape the fact that a beefy, lean physique has almost become a social construct.

    Expensive Gyms and Dieting Scenario

It’s a cruel world, really! Gym membership prices are sky rocketing, leaving the average pot-bellied individual pressing his nose against the glass wall, looking in to watch other people get an inch closer to having the body which he can now only dream of. In the face of monetary inadequacy he resorts to the next best thing he knows about fitness – dieting. And so he begins rampantly cutting off foods from his otherwise healthy diet without any rhyme or reason, thinking that it will help him achieve that eight-pack abs which he has been so arduously wishing for. What’s wrong with that, you ask?

    Evils of Dieting

The Hollywood Cookie diet, the Magic Soup Diet, the Ultra-Detox Diet and whatnots have gripped the fitness-seeking populace in a teeming frenzy. People are following these diets, being blindly unaware of the fact that they are causing more harm than good. These diets are especially designed for specific ailments or body types and are not meant to be followed in general. Blind adherence will only lead to nutritional deficiencies and weakness. If you wish to adopt healthy eating habits, stay away from these dietary fads and resort to eating healthy food.

The body is an organic machine that requires a daily dosage of recommended nutrients to keep its functions up and running. When you adopt such diet fads without proper medical consultation, you end up depriving the body of essential nutrients. People need to realize that being skinny or size-zero is nothing but a potential health hazard and subsisting only on cheese and brine is going to permanently damage your physical build-up.

    Balanced Diet

Healthy eating has been greatly undermined in the flurry of fad following. If one consumes a well balanced diet replete with fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, legumes and pulses, one wouldn’t need to resort to some ridiculous diet to drop weight in an impossible amount of time. The only sure-fire way of achieving a fit physique is to eat right and workout regularly. Not only will this help one lose weight, but will also strengthen the physical processes enough to withstand regular wear and tear.

With fitness in question, any form of dietary deprivation is hazardous for the body in the long run. Do not fall for such trends. Eat right and you will be able to achieve the fit physique you dream of.
