    How To Cope With Work Overload

    1. Set Your Goals

    Often, half the battle is won when the targets are set and clear. If you know what you have to achieve and how much you can achieve, you are already mentally prepared to give what it takes to get to those achievements.

    2. Prioritize

    Learning to prioritize can probably be the best tool to deal with an overload of work. Before plunging into the tasks, think about what needs to be done first. Let the more challenging of tasks be taken up before the easier ones, however daunting that may sound.

    3. Prepare a Schedule

    In tune with setting the priorities is the task of preparing a schedule. Remember the systematic approach at school? How did it work? Well, you followed a timetable! So, why not do it now?

    4. Take Breaks

    Whilst long breaks sipping coffee at the nearby cafe are NOT recommended, small breaks every few hours will help refresh the mind and bring back the focus that your work needs. A bit of ease when the mind is on overload will help it face the challenge better!

    5. Say ‘No’ to Personal Calls

    In the midst of work pressure and an overload of tasks to be completed, personal calls are an absolute ‘No-No’. So, leave your personal life at home and keep the focus on your deliverable at the professional front. And watch how you operate more smoothly and efficiently!

    6. Get Good Sleep

    Sleep! In the midst of all this chaos? Yes, absolutely necessary is a good night’s sleep so that your mind stays fresh and able to concentrate on work! So, make sure you get adequate rest to perform well even in the most trying of situations.

    7. Think Positive

    Positive thinking is not merely a matter of drawing room conversations or self-help books. It is a mantra to be practiced in our daily lives as well. If you are able to grasp this fact of life, you can overcome any stress at work and deal with any amount of pressure!

    Nothing is impossible. So, in the face of a challenge, keep your wits about you and push the gear to top speed. And then see what stops you from dealing with even the worst case of work overload.
