    How to Avoid Putting on Winter Weight

    Winter is slowly creeping in and this lovely weather just makes you want to sleep and eat. We bring you some ways to avoid gaining too much weight during the season.

    1. Hot Tea

    Sipping on hot liquids during this time of year is a delight. However swap the cups of hot chocolate with steaming cups of lemon or peppermint tea. These low calorie drinks will avert the unwanted weight gain.

    2. Exercise

    Although winter makes you lazy and increases the want to be under a cozy blanket at all times, exercising during the season is a must. Push yourself to follow your regular exercise routine to stay away from accumulating fat in the body.

    3. Comfort Foods

    Winter and your favourite comfort food are best friends. The desire to eat more and more of it is all that the season does to it. Nonetheless, watch how much of it you eat to control your weight in the season.

    4. Vegetables

    Eating vegetables provides your body with the required fiber which make you feel full and not hungry at all times. By doing so, the tendency of snacking on all sorts of unhealthy junk food is reduced and the necessary nutrition is also derived.

    5. Travelling

    Instead of using a vehicle to travel to short distances, opt to walk to the destination. This will not only bring the required heat in your body but also keep your body active thereby avoiding the weight gain.

    6. Activity of your choice

    Enrolling yourself for an activity like dance, a sport or anything else that interests you is a must. This can be perfect for combining exercise with some enjoyment.

    7. Watch your alcohol consumption

    Winter makes you want to gulp down more and more of alcohol. Unknowingly this unwatched consumption of alcohol contributes to a lot of calorie intake.

    8. Weight Management

    It is crucial to weigh yourself regularly in order to control your diet and alter exercise regime if required. Monitoring it or taking professional help in doing so is a must.

    Enjoy the comfy season of winter but ensure that you are making the right choices with the food that you consume. Don’t let the weather make you unhealthy.
